Reality sometimes sucks…

Last night I spent some time researching the Emergent church. It was saddening to see and hear what their beliefs are and how they dethrone Christ Jesus from His rightful place. They take away the power of Scripture, saying (in my words) this sword isn’t as sharp as it use to be in today’s society. I was quiet surprised to find that they don’t even believe that hell is a place... This one really baffled me because it takes away so much from Christianity. If there is no hell then:

  • what did Jesus come down and die for?
  • why is God allowing us to go through trial?
  • what is salvation saving us from?

The list could go on and on but these three really hit my mind. The truth is that there is a hell it is mentioned in the Old Testament over 30 times and over 20 times in the New.

Many will go there. (Matt. 7:13-14) Yeah it sucks that some of our friends and family will go there but it is truth. It would be easy to say that God wouldn’t allow it, but He does because He loves us so much that He will not force us to love Him.

When Lucifer was kicked out, a third of the angels went with him. Now remember that these are creatures that were created by the Creator and they even saw Him, yet they still fell. It is no surprise that people will fall when thinking about the angels.

I hope this is getting you worked up, it should. We live in a dark time where people are being deceived by Satan and his demons. Satan knows scriptures and will try to trick us by twisting certain areas to make it seem like no big, when in reality they are HUGE. The New Testament authors talk about a time coming when they will teach doctrines that will be pleasing to the ear, that day is today. These teachings are coming in many forms, the Emergent church, Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, Islam… The list goes on and on. Take heed, 1 Corinthians 10:12 states. We are not to entertain chatter of “theology” that is not from Scripture, it is our gift from God that is absolute truth. Our back bone.

So take this a call. To what you may be wondering, take it as a call to fight the good fight, a call to preach the Word as Paul charged Timothy in 2 Timothy 4:2.

How then will they call on Him whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not herd? And how will they hear with out a preacher? How will they preach unless they are sent?”

So take this as your call to be sent. There is a heaven and a hell, where do you want to see those faces you see everyday end up? It is only through the Gospel of Jesus Christ that you will see them in heaven, so share the free gift that has been given unto you!

Amen! You may want to edit this. You quote from Romans but it sounds like you say its from a letter to Timothy. You say "big" when i think you mean "biggy". :) That's all bro. Great points! God will not force us to love Him, we have free will.
